The boy and the boys wizshow shun and pessimistic relationships. Jerra and Rachel show aplain relationship at first, barely it turns more optimistic duringthe end. The girl and the mother have a oppose damagingrelationship, which does not change. All these characters demonstratea desolate view of relationships at some stage in the novel.The boy and the boys accomplice show a plain, windswept relationship. Theboys friend and his girlfriend travel up the coast together to hismothers holiday house. The boy is quiet and doesnt want to put down hisfriend. He follows them wherever they go and doesnt want to acceptthat things are different, he swears things are the same, No MemoryComes. The boy has been friends with him nearly his square life, anddoesn t realise that his friend his moving on. The boy knows that hisrelationship with his friend is becoming distant. The boy is trappedin the past and terrified that things are changing. He is going tohave to let go of the past, but he does not want to be separated fromit. The boy and the boys friend showed a in truth ordinary relationship,that was not going to last.In the start of the novel Jerra and Rachel do not show a veryoptimistic relationship, however it turns out hopeful during the end.They argue a dandy deal and are quite distant. Jerra has a difficultlack of family support, yet he tries to keep everything together, toomany things had gone against them, woods winter. Theirrelationship was very quiet and there was not a dish up of communication,so Jerra decided to have a baby in pose to bring them closertogether. After the baby Rachel became silent, having the baby hadmuted her, Forest Winter. Rachel also felt perturbing and pessimisticafter she had been raped, however she finds the courage to overcomethis in The strong one. At the end of the novel when Rachel has thebaby, they become very close and Jerra does not want to lose Rachel orSam. At this point it is shown that Jerra cares and has feelings forRachel, I love you, Blood and piddle. Rachel and Jerra have theirups and downs, however in the end they look forward with liking andmore confidence.The mother and the daughter show a very sad and unhopeful
